Glass Prison

Your voice is a fire that burns repeatedly.

An echo that cleanses my being.

A connection to a dream I dare not sever.

The serenity that leaves your lips as you speak.

It drains me, leaves me shaken.

I feel removed from reality.

Placed into a prison constructed from your words,

with nothing but a single window to the real world.

I don’t care to look through it.

You bring me to a place I don’t want to leave,

why should I?

It’s just you.

And me.
